About Filter Everything

Hi there đź‘‹

My name is Andrii Stepasiuk, and I’m the author of the plugin and founder of the Filter Everything project.

I’ve been working with WordPress since 2008 and have spent many years building websites as a freelance developer. Some of my client projects required advanced content filtering, and at that time there were already many WordPress filtering plugins available on the market. However, I still couldn’t find a solution that truly met the quality and feature requirements of my clients’ projects.

Why was Filter Everything created?

At the time, most WordPress filtering plugins were either too limited or simply inconvenient to work with. Some only supported WooCommerce, others had SEO issues, poorly designed UI, or compatibility problems with themes and plugins. Some solutions looked outdated, while others were nearly impossible to configure without coding knowledge and development experience.

What surprised me most was how many obvious things were still missing.

  • Why weren’t empty terms automatically hidden?
  • Why could users see a product with a green variation, but after selecting the blue color filter get an “out of stock” result?
  • Why was filtering limited to predefined parameters instead of allowing filtering by virtually any criteria?

At some point it became clear to me that the WordPress ecosystem lacked a truly universal and well-thought-out filtering solution. By then, I already had enough experience to build such a product myself.

That’s how Filter Everything was born in 2021 — first as a personal experimental project, and later as a full-featured commercial product with a dedicated development and support team.

What was the main goal behind the plugin?

In short, the main goal was to create a truly universal WordPress filtering plugin that could work with any type of content, support filtering by virtually any criteria, and include everything needed for real-world projects.

More specifically, I wanted to build a solution that would allow users to:

  • filter any type of content in WordPress — not only WooCommerce products, but also regular posts, pages, and any custom post types such as cars, real estate, recipes, books, portfolios, and more
  • filter by virtually any criteria — categories, price, brands, colors, WooCommerce attributes, ACF fields, custom fields, taxonomies, and other WordPress data
  • create SEO-friendly filtering result pages with clean URLs work properly on mobile devices without extra plugins or hacks
  • remain compatible with themes, page builders, and other WordPress plugins
  • stay flexible enough for developers and allow customization for different types of projects
    – work fast even on large websites
  • work with existing content without requiring site owners to rebuild their websites around the filtering system

What is Filter Everything today?

Over time, Filter Everything has grown from an experimental side project into a full-featured product and an independent business. The project is now more than 5 years old, and today the plugin is developed and supported by a team of 5 people.

As of May 2026, the Free and PRO versions of Filter Everything have been installed on more than 160,000 WordPress websites worldwide.

The plugin is actively evolving, updates are released regularly, and many new features are added based on user feedback and requests. And what matters most to us — support is still provided by real people, not automated bots or AI-generated replies.

Plugin Support

Shortly after the first release, it became clear that filtering in WordPress can be a complex topic for some users. Even a well-designed plugin may still require additional configuration because of theme behavior, plugin conflicts, or project-specific requirements.

That’s why from the very beginning we focused not only on developing the product itself, but also on providing high-quality support and detailed documentation.

And if you ever run into difficulties with configuration or compatibility — just let us know. We’ll do our best to help you.

Your Ideas and Suggestions

If you have ideas on how Filter Everything could be improved, made more convenient, or expanded with new features — we’d be happy to hear your suggestions.

And if you’d like to contribute to the project or simply share your experience using the plugin — feel free to contact us.

Best regards,
Andrii Stepasiuk
